Improvement works to the pond at Lake View in Pagham are set to begin on 14th September, following ongoing engagement between Jess Brown-Fuller, MP for Chichester, Pagham Parish Council, and Persimmon Homes.
The pond has long been a valued local asset, both for its contribution to the character of the area and for the wildlife it supports, but residents have raised concerns for some time about its declining condition. Following a visit to the site, where Jess met with the Chair of Highways and Amenities at Pagham Parish Council, she wrote to Persimmon Homes to raise these concerns directly, asking them to clarify their position on previously agreed maintenance works and urging them to re-engage with the Parish Council to deliver a long-term solution.
Persimmon Homes have since met with representatives of Pagham Parish Council at the site, and have confirmed that improvement works will begin on 14th September.
Jess has written to residents to update them on this progress, and has committed to continuing to monitor the situation closely as the works get underway.
Speaking on the news, Jess Brown-Fuller MP said:
"I'm very pleased to see this progress after a long period of concern from local residents about the declining condition of the pond. I'll continue to keep a close eye on progress, and if you would like to share your views or experiences regarding the pond, please do not hesitate to get in touch with my office."
