Jess Brown-Fuller MP has sponsored an Early Day Motion in Parliament condemning the government's continued refusal to compensate women affected by changes to the state pension age, as hundreds of constituents continue to await a resolution.
The motion calls on the government to reconsider its position and provide compensation to those affected. It follows the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman's findings of maladministration and injustice in how the changes were communicated, findings which Ministers have so far declined to act upon.

Since taking office, Jess has raised the issue through several parliamentary avenues, including direct intervention in the Commons, written correspondence with the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, cross-party letters, and Parliamentary Written Questions seeking clarity on the potential cost of compensation for women in Chichester.
Jess Brown-Fuller MP said:
"These women planned their lives around information that turned out to be wrong, and have spent years fighting for recognition of that injustice. The Ombudsman found in their favour, and yet still the Government refuses to act.
"I will keep pressing Ministers until these women receive the compensation they are owed."
The Liberal Democrats have long supported calls for women born in the 1950s, affected by the rise in state pension age, to receive compensation, and continue to advocate for a formal scheme reflecting the Ombudsman's recommendations.
