Jess Brown-Fuller MP has welcomed local students to Parliament for a dedicated work experience insight day.

The day began with a guided tour of Parliament, including the chambers of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, with students later having the opportunity to observe proceedings from the public gallery.

This was followed by a presentation from Jess and her team on the work and structure of an MP’s office, and how local issues are translated into parliamentary action, including Ministerial letters, Written Questions, and spoken contributions.

Students then took part in a parliamentary writing workshop, where they drafted questions to Government ministers on issues such as sewage and driving test wait times. The day concluded with a Q&A session, where students were able to ask questions about Jess’s local campaign priorities, political journey, and their own potential future career paths into politics.

Jess Brown-Fuller said:

“It was a pleasure to welcome local students to Westminster today, offering young people the opportunity to see how our democracy works in practice. I hope the experience has encouraged them to stay engaged and consider how they can shape the future in their own communities and I look forward to future events for more young people in the constituency.”
