On 22 May 2026, Chichester MP Jess Brown-Fuller attended the West Wittering Annual Parish Council Assembly, where she heard directly from councillors, residents, and representatives of local organisations about the issues shaping life in the parish.

Several significant concerns dominated the discussion: planning was a recurring theme, with residents raising serious worries about flooding and the capacity of wastewater infrastructure to cope with further development. Second home ownership also featured prominently, reflecting the pressures that high levels of holiday and second home ownership place on housing availability and community cohesion in coastal parishes like West Wittering.

The ongoing debate around local government reorganisation was another major topic, with significant implications for how services are delivered and decisions are made across the area. The government has launched a consultation on what reorganisation should look like for the Chichester constituency, and Jess is encouraging residents to have their say.

Jess also took the opportunity to announce that she will be hosting a full question and answer session with East Wittering Parish Council in September and encouraged West Wittering residents to come along and get involved.

Speaking after the assembly, Jess said:

"West Wittering is a community that cares deeply about its future, and that came through clearly at the assembly. From the very real concerns around flooding and wastewater infrastructure, to the pressures of second home ownership and the changes that local government reorganisation will bring, there is no shortage of important issues to work through together.
I am committed to making sure the voices of West Wittering residents are heard in Parliament, and I look forward to continuing those conversations at the East Wittering question and answer session in September."
