Jess Brown-Fuller, MP for Chichester, has tabled a parliamentary motion marking Battle of Britain Day on 15 September 2026, paying tribute to the courage, sacrifice and determination of all those who served during the Battle of Britain.

The motion recognises the important role the battle played in the defence of the United Kingdom and the preservation of democracy and freedom in Europe, and highlights the significant contribution of West Sussex's airfields, including RAF Tangmere, whose pilots and ground crews were at the forefront of operations during one of the most critical periods in the nation's history.

It also commends the work of the Tangmere Military Aviation Museum in preserving this heritage and educating future generations about the service and sacrifice of those involved.

Speaking on the motion, Jess Brown-Fuller MP said

"Battle of Britain Day marks one of the most significant moments in our nation's history, and it is important that we take time to remember the courage of the pilots and ground crews who defended our skies. Here in Chichester, RAF Tangmere and its airmen played a vital role in that defence, and I'm proud that this legacy continues to be preserved and shared today through the work of the Tangmere Military Aviation Museum."
