Jess Brown-Fuller MP Marks Holocaust Memorial Day 2026

This week, Jess Brown-Fuller MP marked Holocaust Memorial Day alongside communities across the UK, remembering the six million Jewish men, women and children murdered during the Holocaust, the other victims of acts of Nazi persecution, and all those who later suffered persecution in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

On Tuesday, Jess joined the Chichester Marks Holocaust Memorial Day event at the Chichester Festival Theatre for Kate Mosse’s one-woman show, Honouring Courageous Women. The event was also attended by the High Sheriff and the Mayor of Chichester. Clare Apel, founding trustee of Chichester Marks Holocaust Memorial Day, shared a moving account of her mother’s journey from Austria with her two young sons, reminding the audience why they were coming together. Ralph Apel recited the El Male Rachamim, a memorial prayer for the souls lost in the Holocaust.

Reflecting on the event, Jess Brown-Fuller said:

“Kate Mosse’s performance was a powerful reminder of ensuring that the stories of those who suffered, and those who showed extraordinary courage, are never forgotten. I am very grateful to the organisers of Chichester Marks Holocaust Memorial Day for bringing our community together in such a thoughtful and respectful way every year to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.”

Chichester Marks Holocaust Memorial Day also hosts 200 local school children to provide education on racism, the Holocaust, human rights abuses and genocide.

Holocaust Memorial Day is organised and facilitated by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, a charity established and supported by the UK government, which coordinates events and activities nationwide to ensure the lessons of the past are remembered and acted upon.
