Earnley Parish Council hosted Jess Brown-Fuller MP on the afternoon of Friday 16 January for a Q&A session with local residents, held at Bracklesham Barn.
The event follows Jess’s invitation last year to every Parish Council across the constituency to hold an MP Q&A session or advice surgery.
Parish Council Chair Robert Carey presided over the afternoon meeting, which was attended by approximately 30 residents, including Councillors representing the Parish at District and County level.
The first half of the session saw the Council put questions to Jess on topics including; flooding mitigation, traffic on the A27 Chichester bypass, upcoming local government reorganisation, and concerns over increasing pressures on wastewater treatment infrastructure in the Parish.
For the second part of the afternoon, the discussion was opened to questions from residents, who raised concerns about NHS funding, rural policing, and the management of coastal defences.
Following the event, Jess said:
“It was a pleasure to be with residents from Earnley Parish this afternoon and to hear directly about the issues that matter to them the most. Being accessible to constituents and making sure their voices are reflected in my work in Parliament is incredibly important to me, and I am keen to continue these conversations across the constituency. I would like to thank Earnley Parish Council for helping to facilitate this event.”
This Q&A session is the second of the New Year, following a similar event held with North Mundham Parish Council earlier this January.
